Prothane Bushings
Production vehicles are built using rubber bushings in control arms, strut arms, leaf springs, body mounts, motor mounts, transmission mounts, sway bars, and shocks. Additionally, rubber components can be used for: sway bar end links, coil spring pads, leaf spring pads, and suspension bump stops. While rubber components offer a soft side, for typical driving conditions, they tend to deteriorate rapidly from exposure to the elements and constant use! This contributes to premature component failure, resulting in a “spongy” ride and loss of performance handling. PROTHANE™ Urethane is impervious to the elements, gas, and oil, will not rot and is strongerthan rubber.

Without Lower Mount:
- Extra down pipe clearance, this cross member is designed to be 1 inch lower than the OEM cross member.
- Strength, made with 1″ x .120wa DOM Tubing and 3/16 A36 flanges.
Transmission Support
The lower mount is often referred to as the “5th mount” or “mx3 mount retrofit”. This mount offers additional support and strength of the transmission, reducing the risk of trans case failure, especially during hard launches.
With Lower Mount:
- Extra down pipe clearance, this cross member is designed to be 1 inch lower than the OEM cross member.
- Strength, made with 1″ x .120wa DOM Tubing and 3/16 A36 flanges.
- Lower mount acts as an additional transmission stabilizer, limiting the engine movement and preventing trans case damage.
Fabrication Information:
Each Cross member is built on an actual sub-frame from a car, and the holes are elongated to allow for easier installation. Attachments included that secure the cross member to the transmission are made from aluminum for added resistance to steel on aluminum corrosion and allowing the installer to easily modify holes for best fitment.
