Food Ranger Salad Bar

This project started as a fun gag that turns a lot of heads and creates many smiles. This salad bar originated from the Bonanza of St. Cloud. It was auctioned after the restaurant closed and this owner found it inspiring so they bought it.
A 90’s Ford ranger was later purchased at another auction and the imagination started growing.

The Ford ranger was stretched 16 feet and made to accept the salad bar in between. It utilizes all its factory component’s such as fuel tank and fuel pump, lights and exhaust. The exhaust piping, electrical wiring and drive shaft were extended to accommodate the salad bar. All of these parts are found inside the interior of the salad bar base hidden from sight but sealed from the road.

The step side box was utilized to hold all of the salad bar chillers, bowels and utensils. It was painted in ” Saddle Tan ” to give that Bonanza vibe, and named the ” Smorgasbord Sprinter ” with the ford logo on the grille changed to say ” FOOD “.
