Retrofitting Heat
This project involved a Volvo dump truck with a box on it not originally designed to be heated. We discovered the main structure of the box support rails were a hollow design and could be modified to accept exhaust heat thru them.
This project was particularly difficult because of a hydraulic tank directly in the path of the exhaust. We fabricated a exhaust valve box mounted between exhaust DPF and Exhaust stack exit. The heated part of the exhaust valve would need to route around the hydraulic tank and loop back up to mate with the dump box.
All of this project was done in house from fabricating the exhaust component’s, hooking up the pneumatics and electronic controls.
